Reagent A is the citric acid half of the two-part mix used to run a Bioscape CO2 reactor. On its own it does nothing; paired with Reagent B (sodium bicarbonate) inside the reaction cylinder, it generates a steady, controlled supply of carbon dioxide for freshwater planted aquariums, where CO2 underpins strong, healthy plant growth.
It suits anyone already running a Bioscape CO2 reactor and needing to restock consumables, or topping up a reaction cycle. This is a high-purity citric acid and is only safe for aquarium use as part of the reactor system — it is never added straight to the tank.
To use, measure 200g of Reagent A against 200g of Reagent B per reaction cycle, add water to the reaction cylinder as set out in your reactor instructions, and make sure the cylinder is correctly fitted to the regulator before gas production starts. Always follow the mixing and dosage directions supplied with your reactor.
