This is a single-use sachet of pH 7.01 calibration buffer, used to set the midpoint when calibrating a pH meter or probe. The solution reads 7.01 at 25°C with an accuracy of ±0.01 pH. It is NIST traceable.

Each sachet is sealed in light-blocking foil, so the buffer stays protected from UV light that could shift its value, and every sachet is opened fresh. The lot number and expiration date are printed on each one, and an unopened sachet is formulated to last 2 years from the date of manufacture. The label is colour coded to make it quick to tell buffer values apart, and the solution contains no dyes that could stain the reference cell of a pH electrode.

Single sachets suit hobbyists who only calibrate now and then, since there's no bottle going stale on the shelf. They also pack easily for fieldwork or travel, and are handy for anyone wanting a clean, measured dose of buffer for each calibration.
